I've added the participants I want, but the bracket generated isn't correct. It shows a bunch of "null" slots, making the tournament bigger than what I want, and I can't remove them.

It's an uneven number of participants, but shouldn't it give a bye to one person?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong? I selected single elimination, and registration is for user names. I manually added them.

Also, what's the difference between double elimination and single with consolation? Seems to be the same to me.

    hi,

Doesn't look incorrect to me, you have more than an even number so there is bye for everyone but one couple.

Consoluation means no reintroduction of the winners in the main bracket (ie. once you lost you lost and can't be first).

Ah, okay. I get it. Seems like a very confusing way to lay it out. Should look more like this in my opinion:

Where the bye is clearly labeled without the need for showing blank spaces. Makes it much easier to comprehend this way, looks more organized. Would it be possible to give an option to have a layout like that?

    Hi,

No not possible, the library I use to generate the brackets is as it is and I won't modify it in such a way, too intensive modifications.

One thing I am surprised, is that the winners of the bye match are not displayed.
Were they put to the next level in your test ?

When it would look much better and cleaner like this:

While looking at this, I am thinking somehow it may be possible to try, without modifying the core of the library, to hide the match with a bye.

Do you have an example running that I could look into the html code ? I dno't have a setup running right now.

Yes, the one that's up on my site can be used. The tournament system is only visible to Admins atm, so don't worry about messing anything up.

One solution you could use is to give the bye matches a separate class or id (.bye or #bye), so then users could then opt to hide them or not by putting display: none in the css file.

I checked and in fact there is already a class "team na", so through some js hiding the parent it would work.

I saw that, but it only applied to the blank names. So hiding those would still leave the other names showing as normal.
