Suggestion Automate Affiliate Payouts

About payouts, right now it’s pretty basic. We just mark it as paid and handle it manually

I think it’s time we take the next step and make it either automated or handled more directly on the affiliate’s end. Not sure what the best approach would be yet, but I’d love to hear your thoughts

One idea could be automatically splitting the payment at the time of purchase, where the affiliate’s percentage goes directly to their PayPal/Stripe, and the rest to admin. Kind of like how it works when there are multiple developers selling on the forum and the admin takes a cut?

Also, what happens if a payment is refunded? We’ll need a good system for handling that too, especially if the affiliate already got paid for that sale

One last thing, it would be amazing if the addon could automatically generate an invoice for the affiliate's payout, for tax/reporting purposes, so we don’t have to ask them to send one each time

I don't think it would be possible to automate it considering the XenForo payment system and I would not be willing on developing a custom solution, it's too much time consuming.

I could add a pay button that would allow you to click and proceed with the payment.

This solution only works with paypal and was developed long time ago.
It has restrictions though as there is a minimum amount for the payments.

Stripe does have the same thing from what I know but it would need a fully customized solution.

Also, what happens if a payment is refunded? We’ll need a good system for handling that too, especially if the affiliate already got paid for that sale

Indeed, right now once you marked pay you already do now know that affiliate got paid already.
If the payment system was handling it I guess it would manage it as a refund for the affiliate part too.

I guess it could yeah.

Honestly all of this would require huge amount of work, that will not be something I'll work on as of today, the product sales are very very low on that one.
