I bought this add-on and then realised I need to install core files. Downloaded core 2.4.0 and when I try and install core then setup a dummy item to try and buy. I get this error:

Hi,

Did you follow this:

Clément

Aha - did not know I needed to do this. However, the PayPal pages I see are not the same as in your instructions. I do have a business account and for the API/Credentials page I see this screen below (I redacted parts of it) Which API do I need to create ? - Do I create a new "App".

Hi @Clement - OK I made new credentials and have successfully uploaded these to the server. Now I get the message as follows

These are brand new PayPal credentials. How can I debug this? There is nothing in server logs.

Some more information. There is nothing logged in the Paypal developer dashboard which would suggest that the comms with PayPal is not being initiated.

There are no entries in access.log or error.log (I am running Apache2 on Ubuntu 24.04)

I tried this with sand box and production - same error.

I searched all the forum posts I can with this error and yes, I am using a different PP ID for selling and config. I am asking for 0% on all transactions and I am using USD only. I noted that there is a setting in the config file to enable logging and I tried this but seemingly no log was generated. I set the log path to /var/log/pp.log

I hope this helps narrow this down.

OK more info. I now get this error. Like it cannot write the logfile.

I tried changing permissions on the directory src/addons/XFA/Core/vendor/AngellEye/paypal-php-library/src/angelleye/PayPal and even this did not cure the error. So I cannot get logs .... :(
