It's indeed not 100% sticking to the standards, but what issue does it cause ?

About Resource standards New tables must be prefixed with xf_ and additionally an identifier for the add-on and @Chris D can give best answer?

That's what the the Resource standards says indeed.
However, I won't take time changing everything just because it's not standard as I don't think it's leading to any issue.
